The Houston Military Affairs Committee (HMAC) is a 501(c)(3) organization committed to the objective of promoting the image of the Armed Forces of the United States. In doing so, HMAC provides a forum for appropriate speakers, participates in special events that have local and national significance, supports the activities of both Active and Reserve forces, and creates an organization that meets the professional and social needs of its members throughout the Houston area. Such activities depend not only on the combined efforts of many HMAC volunteers, but also monetary donations from individuals and businesses throughout the Houston area.

501(c)(3) I.R.S. Guidelines
As a 501(c)(3) organization, the Houston Military Affairs Committee must be organized and operated exclusively for exempt purposes set forth in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and none of its earnings may inure to any private shareholder or individual. Further, while promoting the image of the Armed Forces, HMAC must not attempt to influence legislation as a substantial part of its activities and may not participate in any campaign activity for or against political candidates. Deductible Contribution Guidelines
All contributing individuals, who itemize deductions may deduct contributions to most charitable organizations up to 50% of his or her adjusted gross income computed without regard to net operating loss carrybacks. Business contributions are deductible based on business type, and any contributions made on behalf of a business entity should be done under the guidance of the businesses financial department. Any donations made to HMAC, from an individual or business, will receive a donor acknowledgement letter to confirm the contribution.
