Houston Military Affairs Committee would like to invite members and non-members to attend our luncheon on September 12, 2019. Our speaker for our luncheon will be Bruce Bramlett, Executive Director of the Battleship Texas Foundation to speak to our members about the USS Texas Battleship.
The USS Texas was commissioned in 1914 as the most powerful weapon in the world, the Battleship Texas is credited with the introduction and innovation of advances in gunnery, aviation, and radar. It is an important part of Texas History. The USS Texas is the last surviving dreadnought as well as the only battleship in existence today that fought in both World War I and World War II. Mr. Bramlett wants to speak to our members about the moving of the USS Texas to a location where it can be restored.
